Committing poetry since February 2006
An entire month compressed
a poetic movement
not disappearing, butbecoming completeemptiness so that
an explosion can occur.
i believe it could be some form ofsaving.
That seems too cliché. Are you going to call a month offa tea kettle or images in a poetic bank collecting interest?
No, just saving others from bad poetryavoiding the month of leaves falling,
already a feeling Chris falls back on way too much
It’s comfort.
Not for anyone else reading.
Maybe it's pulling your car over on the way home,or rather when visiting home, after dropping your love off, rainy roads reflecting, mirroring the drivein blurry memory stealing that timepulled over, where cars passing are amplifiedby water,to write.
A windshield wiper movement,a clarity between lines.
A function of recordingbefore memory loss; a taking ofnotes in small capital lettersabout hockey cards& Eric Clapton set lists.
Honey bunches of oats cereal every morningwith tea.
Trying to read books on bees.
Trying too hard, a balloon head.
When writing becomes less word working& more composition in space
Can you reshape a page?
the lines in a facehow your father smiles
enjoys romantic comedy& the office
fear of not getting a poem (memory) right
a failing |falling| in formatting?
planning takes over
not following through
or work getting in the way
loss of self-editing abilities
an absorption of book candyto get the minda sugar highaway from thepicking & packing of the warehouse
useful,common everyday imagery
tire tracks folding frosted grass
Where is the line between journal entry & poem?
a coffee machine grinding
catching micedaily.
A blinding of spoken word
peanut butter smells like death
devoted mid-western children building a societybased on worship, producing ethanol, & corn
I would say misguided,& they mostly just took overnot planting anything but misinterpreted words woven in-between the rows
a reference from the radio
selling soul to temp service, again
route 476
he sees his shadow & stays indoors
or scribbles or seeds or sentiment
becoming a Facebook stalker type
i heard it on NPR
is this workableat a poetry reading?
there is some type of misplacedenergy in the whole constructionfervent believing children, agriculture, terrible animation, layers that distract
but without coffee, no.
you have to write the partsthat don’t fitto find what (maybe) works.
So you suggest building shitty structures in hopes that one won’t collapse?
that’s the beauty of this whole experiment
a trick, a gimmick
structure, “form gathering force”
when looking for a poem (meaning) & all you find is “loopy language.”
a sincere pumpkin patch
a sub-prime writing scandal
a collection, a kit, a set of reflective & self referential texts
who tries to be a poet these days?
It’s much like a football, pulled away at the last moment
a silence, a fall
